Save big on Bow Wedges today!

The inspiration behind the Bow Wedge originated back in 2024 from incident I experienced while launching my boat. The first time that I launched my Mako Pro‑Skiff 15cc, it was evident that the bow roller could present a problem. Boat ramps vary significantly—water levels, tides, river conditions, and ramp pitch can change from one launch to the next, even at the same location. These variables affect the boat’s release point, and in my case, the bow frequently caught on the roller during launch.

During an afternoon fishing trip, this issue nearly resulted in an accident. The river level was slightly lower than usual, but still within an acceptable range for launching. I was in the boat while my father‑in‑law backed the trailer down the ramp. When the boat began to release, it became stuck on the bow roller. Believing it would free itself, he continued backing up. When it finally released, the trailer had moved too far into the water, and the combined weight of the trailer and river current caused the truck to begin sliding deeper. Fortunately, a nearby individual with a four‑wheel‑drive vehicle was able to intervene and pull the truck to safety. That experience made it clear that a solution was necessary.

After evaluating my options, I developed the concept for the Bow Wedge. I researched materials and selected Tough Cast 65D, a rigid rubber compound well‑suited for this application. After creating a mold, the initial prototype was successful. I installed the Bow Wedge using 5200 Marine Adhesive and allowed adequate curing time before testing. The result was immediate and effective, as the boat released smoothly and effortlessly from the trailer. Since then, I have launched under a wide range of conditions, all with consistently safe and reliable results.

I have since received a Patent Pending status with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Thank you for considering the Bow Wedge for your Mako Pro-Skiff. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
